What is a Shiatsu Massage?
A Shiatsu Massage is an ancient healing therapy that originated in South East Asia. It has been used for centuries across Japan and China as a restorative technique. The word ‘Shiatsu’ is of Japanese origin; the word ‘Shi’ means ‘Finger’ and ‘Atsu’ means ‘Pressure.’ A Shiatsu Massage is a finger-pressure massage technique. It involves the manipulation of muscles and soft tissue by applying pressure along the body. This pressure is applied by the massage therapist using his fingers, thumbs, palms and elbows.
